Getting To The Heart Of The Problem

Stethoscope

As I looked towards the heavens, I felt faint and nearly lost my balance. The baby blue sky was blanketed ever so slightly with puffy white clouds. The sun was high over head. It was a blistering 99 degree day and the air was thick like soup. I had been walking around with a customer, doing an outdoor site-survey. Earlier in the day, I had noticed that it was difficult to breath. I was having to work at it. Not so bad that I felt there was a serious problem, just bothersome. I wrote it off in my mind that it was due to the heat, humidity and the fact that I hadn’t slept well the night before. Just a minor miscalculation on my part. [continue and comment…]

The Big Storm

Storm napping

We were very apprehensive about getting a second kitty. We had no idea how our other two babies would react. What if they absolutely hated him? Or, what if they became insanely jealous? What if they wanted to see him dead? :) We had all those worries and more, prior to bringing home little Storm. As I shared with you in Introducing A New Kitten Into Your Home , he is an adorable little guy, full of personality. Well, he’s bigger now and his personality really shines! He is the center of attention at our house. He teases our puppy Missy. He torments our kitty Precious. But, at the end of the day, they all three seem to really love each other and get along great! A Nightmare On Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day!

I woke up in a cold sweat, eyes stinging from the salty perspiration, running from my brow. I sat up quickly. As I wiped my forehead with my bed sheet, a cold chill ran down my spine. I turned, eyes squinting from the light sifting through the blinds. As I’m looking at the clock on my night stand, I felt my stomach drop. “What day is it?”, I thought? OMG! It’s Valentines Day. I flippin forgot Valentines Day! Disoriented, I tried to backtrack in my mind the events leading up to today. Could I have REALLY forgotten V-Day? My wife is going to be one unhappy camper. Scratch that, I’m going to be one unhappy camper. In fact, I might have to pitch a tent, in the back yard! [continue and comment…]

Droppers, Readers, Commenters and Cheaters, Oh My!

I’m sure all you EntreAddicts out there have heard about the accusations made by Cornyman in his blog post, EntreCard members get scammed by these members! When I first read Cornymans post, I was quick to react. Too quick. I was really ticked. Mad. How dare these no good SOB’s cheat the system, when I spend HOURS everyday visiting and dropping on my 300 blog “drop list”. My selfish little demon took over and I almost immediately jumped on the band wagon. I left a comment on his blog, condemning the accused. Condemning them with little thought, allowing my emotions to control my keystrokes. [continue and comment…]

I blog and Don E's Homeless Movement

About a month ago, a comment on one of my posts caught my eye. It was a funny quip, short and sweet. Like I tend to do, I followed the author back to his blog and read his latest post. I had a few laughs, got side tracked and moved on. A few days later, I noticed the same guy had left another comment. Following that, I started noticing his comments all over the place. Sometimes short and sweet, sometimes long and detailed, but almost always thought provoking, funny and REAL. I decided to give his blog a second look. [continue and comment…]

Top 10 Entrecard Droppers: January 2010

I’m going to mix things up a little this month. Following my post Mail Bag: Entrecard Woes I did a lot of thinking on how to make my recognition of the Top Droppers more fair. Thanks to everyone for all the feedback. I think we all came to the conclusion that the top 10 as listed on Entrecard’s site is based purely on luck and timing. With that being said, I came up with “The New Deal.” No, I’m not going to turn over my Entrecard credits to the government and let them redistribute them as they see fit. What I have decided to do is use random.org to pick 10 numbers between 1 and 25. They were as follows: 21, 5, 25 11, 17 13, 23, 2, 8 & 19, picked in that order. I then took the Entrecard top 25 RSS feed from 2/1  and grabbed the links to create my Top 10 Entrecard Droppers for January 2010. [continue and comment…]

A Little Snow Storm

Missy takes me for a walk...

I wouldn’t have believed it, if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. We actually got a decent size snow storm here in Virginia Beach today. The weather man was calling for 8-12 inches. We have about 7 inches on the ground right now and it’s supposed to keep snowing all night, into the morning hours. Normally, when the “man” calls for snow here in VB, we get rain or sun or ANYTHING, but snow. [continue and comment…]
