I wouldn’t have believed it, if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes. We actually got a decent size snow storm here in Virginia Beach today. The weather man was calling for 8-12 inches. We have about 7 inches on the ground right now and it’s supposed to keep snowing all night, into the morning hours. Normally, when the “man” calls for snow here in VB, we get rain or sun or ANYTHING, but snow.
So, as you can imagine, I was a little more than skeptical when I heard the forecast. BUT, I am now a believer…at least for today. In general though, I tend to think of Meteorology as a voodoo-science. No, not really, but you probably have a better chance of guessing the Mega Millions winning numbers than predicting a snow storm here in Hampton Roads.
With that being said, what a snow storm it’s been! The entire area is SHUT DOWN. Like, don’t leave the house unless you have a medical emergency, shut down. The local media is having a field day with it. “Say Don, it looks like the snow is about half way up your calf…why yes, yes it is Tonya. Let me take out my measuring stick and…look, look at that… 6 inches…so that’s what 6 inches looks like?” Flip the channel, insert new bat names, same bat banter. Oh well, they need to talk about something…
This was my dog Missy’s first really big snow storm. She was so excited! She pranced, rolled and ran in circles in our backyard. We took a long walk around the neighborhood and she wore herself out! At the end of the day, she passed out in her bed for a few hours. Here are some pictures from our “Big” storm. You northerners hush! It was big to us!
Enjoy…
About 3-4 inches
Redneck sleigh
First thing this morning, 2-3 inches
Running in circles!

Come on Daddy, it's cold!

That is a good amount of snow–enjoy! Fun to watch the dogs get so thrilled about it, ours loves it too. We got a red jacket for our dog too, but she prefers going out without it I think–the cold doesn’t seem to bother her at all!

We were supposed to get some snow too but luckily all we got was rain. The sleet and freezing rain just missed us. So, you think your dog had a good time in the snow, you should see donkeys and ponies play in it. They love it. They dig and roll in it. But those are super pictures of the dog having a wonderful time including her nap. And the dog coat is great too.

Wow, Snow! Since your “shut down”, may I suggest that, in order to avoid “Cabin Fever”…You use, said snow(white, not yellow), for that most favorite boat drink…The Margarita!

This snow is just continuing all over the country! We got 6-8 inches in Texas which is pretty rare. It was my son’s first big snowstorm (like Missy’s). Although it looks like Missy enjoyed it more than my son!
