I have been [organic] gardening my entire adult life. I am familiar with growing all kinds of vegetables. In years past, I have grown tomatoes, eggplant, corn, peppers, cucumbers, squash and all kinds of herbs. This year, my wife and I decided to try growing broccoli and cauliflower. This was a first. The broccoli has done very well, the cauliflower, not so much.
Broccoli was not my favorite veggie when I was growing up. I was in the George Bush broccoli camp. I found it to be an unpleasant chore to eat. But, since then I have developed a taste for those little trees. I love breaking them up into small pieces in my salads. It is a great snack with ranch dressing. And of course I love steamed broccoli. Add a little melted cheese and you’re good to go!
Broccoli is high in vitamins A and D
We just harvested our first crop last weekend. It was delicious! By Sunday evening, it was all gone!
As you can see below, Broccoli is very healthy food choice.

I love broccoli for its nutritional value. But here in our place, this veggie is quite expensive. I wished we also have an area where I can home grown broccoli.

Broccoli is one of my favourite vegetables! I love it steamed with a little butter and sea salt. I grow organically using the square foot gardening method in raised beds. Unfortunately I did not have much luck growing broccoli in my previous garden and haven’t tried here yet since we’ve been busy doing more ripping out than planting. Anyway, I will trying growing broccoli in next year. Hopefully our new location will prove a bit more favourable for growing broccoli.
