Hi John,
I need to manage debt, I will focus really hard on this in 2009. Less stress in my life would be great. Take good care!

Hi Robin, I think managing debt is extremely important, particularly right now with the current economic climate. Once you have a grasp on it, you will feel a noticeable change in your stress levels! Here’s to less stress in ‘09!

What works for me is to simplify my life. I make things a priority too.
And I try to do the same things, like working out, at the same time every day.
These little things help me to stay on track.

Lose weight is always on my list–it never leaves my list. I wish I could take it off my list, but that is unlikely.

My resolutions are all fitness related but they are quite specific. I want to do more bodyweight training, improve my flexibility and do more running. Last year I spent a lot of time in the gym and so I want to vary my workout routines this year.

I don’t know if I’ve mentioned Steve Pavlina here before, but he has an awesome way to start (or break) a habit. It’s called ‘30 days to success’, and it’s simple as crap yet extremely effective. Anybody looking to implement a long-term change should do a 30-day trial. It’s much less daunting and it builds inertia over the 30-day period. I’m using it to implement a lot in 2009.
Definitely check it out guys and gals; it’s really powerful. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/04/30-days-to-success/

I think New Years Resolutions are garbage. The majority of those NYR’s fail because they either display lack of commitment or absence of mental strength and determination. Seriously, there is nothing magic about any January 1st. Once you made up your mind to change something you can and will do it regardless of the date. Sure, there are exceptions and some fulfill their NYR’s but those individuals were just as likely to succeed if they would have started on any other day. Most of those who hope or think they will get anything accomplished are already set to fail. So, if you want to change something do it now and don’t wait for a certain date.

My new year resolutions involve riding my mountain bikes more, eating/drinking less crap and being more calm when dealing with authoritative people. I lose it to easily and end up losing a battle of words.

Getting more fit has definitely become a priority for Craig and I, as we are quickly kicking down the door to 50yrs of age. The cool thing is finally after me being into fitness, or him, we are BOTH into it at the same time. Which makes it even more fun!
And I’m always trying to save more money … these days that should be a priority for all of us!

So far so bad.
- Get in better shape…My personal trainer sent me a text yesterday and volunteered to come get me and drive me to the gym.
- Eat healthier – I finally went to the grocery store, but it was because I’d run our Coke Zero (but I bought grapes too though, so that ought to fix me up)
- Spend more time on income producing activities (well, here I am blogging the day away)
Oh well…

I didn’t really make a resolution this year. My son asked me at the beginning of the year what mine was. He said his was to read more, so I told him that would be mine too. That’s all I can promise for now – lol!
P.S. Thank you for continuing to visit me, while I was without a computer. Good news my new computer arrived yesterday! Yea!

These aren’t the most original resolutions John. Everyone is looking for that increase in life. Self Discipline is probably the most underrated trait that people need.

As we’re in the middle of a move, my resolutions haven’t had a chance to kick into gear. Transition periods are always tough. Once we’re settled, I will revisit all of my resolutions, review my strategic plans, and hopefully make good on the promises I’ve made to myself.

Great resolutions. Unfortunately, I haven’t really made any for myself yet! Terrible, isn’t it! I’ll do better…
Fact is, you can’t make it very far without some goals. I need to state mine clearly and make them happen.

We’re now a month into 2009 and I’ve still yet to join a gym which was on my list. I think the reason why must be because its so cold here in UK that I would rather hold on to the little layer of fat I have around my belly cos its keeping me warm

Great site and resolutions. I personally don’t like the word “resolutions” I prefer to use “goals” it has a more promising and achievable intonation.

Aaaarrrgghhh!!! My resolution is to simply improve my life anyway that I can and try to stay healthy. If we look at life one day at a time and be thankful for it and good health (if you’re lucky enough to have it), you can’t go wrong. As long as you’ve got your health, you’ve got everything!!!

Very worthwhile resolutions indeed, similar to my year round focus which is a combination of keeping my mind and body fit and of course improving financially. Off the subject, everytime I visit here I get a little theme envy…really well put together, clean, and sharp blog John.

New years resolutions are overrated, in my opinion, as I belive you need goals throughout the year to stay motivated. I try to set a new goal each month for something I’d like to change, and this month it’s eating habits. So far, I’m doing pretty good, but it’s still early.
