I think If i had summer plans the gas crunch would have forced me to cancel them. The price of fuel right now is ridiculous.

It is all cyclical isn’t it, and though I do not wish ill on anyone and I know how incredibly these inflationary/price increases are hurting many Americans, without this fuel increase we would not be moving forward in positive-too long in coming-alternative fuel and energy sources. I am a Green Girl, I will admit it, and I am happy that we are pushing in another less environmentally damaging direction. Just sorry the change has to be so painful but would we do it if it weren’t??

I used to not bother with gas prices even when they were a bit more but now I am really noticing. I feel like I am not as free to drive across town and really trying to conserve. Ten dollars gets me nowhere and $20 just lasts a day or two while I conserve. no fun.

We’ve had plans to travel across country this summer for the “road trip of all road trips”. Yikes! Now we’re finding ourselves taking a serious look about if we’ll go. We’ve been crunching numbers like mad and found that gas alone would cost us $1000 in a 3 day trip. That’s one helluvan expensive trip. We’ll see…

Well…how long can you put off a vacation? Has price for anything in this world really rolled back? Last summer we were all pondering this same question when gas was below the $3 mark.

It was not too long ago that a barrel of gas was quoted under $40. At that time $50 was the high mark for the tide…that quickly inched its way up to $100 as the high tide mark - today we are hovering near $130 and $150 is the new high tide mark.

So you got to do what you got to do. Everything costs more now..including food. So what do you do….eat less or put off eating?

Time for some grassroots home made fuel!!!!!!

Time to put all those rich oil corps out of biz. There taking advantage of us thinking we are the ones in the hole with no way out. But we could stop the world if we stopped using their product. We don’t have to rely on them.

Really? You don’t have to rely on transportation, consumer products, food at the grocery store, anything with plastic in it……

I would love nothing more than to stick it to them, but it’s going to take massive overhauls. Our entire society has been built on cheap oil, and the oil companies are simply filling that demand. Granted, we could cut back our demand greatly right now simply by making small changes, and it looks like Americans are finally starting to do that at these prices.

John, today a guy next to me on the bus had a marine buddy coming back from Aftganistan to JFK NYC. I heard him say…I’ll try, but its $180 bucks to fill up my tank. Nice for a marine who just “served a tour” near “Oil-land” to here “coming home” to the USA.
