I just wanted to take a minute and say “Happy Mothers Day!” to all the moms out there! I hope you enjoy your day with family. We are having my Mom & Dad, Mother-in-law, Sister and family, my Grandmother and of course my wife, over for brunch. My daughter and I will be cooking up a huge spread! Wishing you all the best on your day. Enjoy!
Just in case you’re wondering, you can thank Anna Marie Jarvis (1864-1948) for all her hard work and effort to establish Mothers Day as a National Holiday. Anna worked tirelessly for this cause following the death of her mother on May 9, 1905. President Woodrow Wilson signed the proclamation designating the Second Sunday in May as “Mothers Day” on May 14, 1914.
And, yes, those flowers were picked fresh this morning in my backyard, by yours truly, for your virtual viewing pleasure!

Thanks for the Mother’s Day wishes. I didn’t know either, how this holiday got started. Interesting and it’s a great day to honor mothers. I’m sure you had a fun day with your family. The flowers are very pretty, red is my favorite color. Take care and have a great week ahead!
