I wanted to take a minute and thank the top ten Entrecard “droppers” on my site. But first I have a few thoughts about Entrecard I wanted to share with you. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go here.
I think that in order for everyone to truly benefit from Entrecard, you must take several things into consideration.
First, I feel it is important to drop on those who have dropped on you. Especially consistent droppers. Why not reward these people with a reciprocal drop? I go through my drop inbox everyday and return the favor to these people first. Check out my policies page.
Second, for this group of consistent droppers, I try to do the following:
- I click on another link on their site after I drop. This will keep my visit from being viewed as a “bounce” from the likes of the google bots. Sites with a high bounce rate receive unfavorable ranking status from google, as I understand it.
- I try to click on the ad running on their site. This helps out the blog running the ad. You know, the whole reason we are all running Entrecard ads to begin with, right? If I am interested in the subject matter on this blog, I may stay a while and check it out. If not, I click a link and exit. Remember the bounce rate?
I am currently averaging about 150 drops on my widget every day. In order to return these drops and max out my 300 drops I had to find a way to speed things up. First of all, you need to use Firefox. It is much faster than IE and functions much more efficiently. I can easily open 20 or more sites at a time and click through to them. I also recommend getting the Firefox addon PermaTabs. To fill the balance of my daily drops I visit: PowerDropping. The sites listed here are supposed to have the EntreCard widget above the fold, in other words visible when landing on the page. This keeps you from having to hunt for the Entrecard widget. Having to hunt for the widget is very annoying!

Hi John,
Thanks for the tips on speeding things up. I find that some blogs load to long & it is time consuming to drop 300 times. You are in my top card droppers, I appreciate your visits. Thanks for the link love & have a great day!

Hi John, thank you for the tips. I am using firefox too and 300 drops is only 30 to 45 minutes for me to finish. I have a list of 100 to 150 consistent droppers, they are the first that I have to visit and you are one of them.
I hope they will increase the max 300 drops though.

I used to drop 250-300 a day..now I’m just doing reciprocates lol..just don’t want to waste my time too much on that..

Hey John,
Firefox is so much faster than IE if you are opening more sites especially when use for dropping cards.
The PC must also be able to take in the number of processes…my PC can’t take it so i have to rely on my notebook to do this.

These are some really great tips.
It’s important to spend some time on someone’s site. Especially if you are thinking about requesting to advertise on there through Entrecard.

Hi John thanks for adding me to your list of top droppers, I haven’t been dropping for the past about 8 days, because I was away as you know. I’ll start again this week! I’m only going to reciprocate too, as doing 300 is way too time consuming!

Hi Everyone! I hope you found the tips useful! I have been dropping about 300 a day for some time now, like most of you, I don’t know how long I can keep it up! I used to do 250-ish drops but not anymore, it’s just so time consuming and boring! I only do recipocrates now

Hi John! I am a newbie on Entrecard, and not even a very seasoned blogger (and hopefully I can say) yet! I don’t see myself even getting close to dropping 300 per day. Visiting peoples blogs is a favorite when I decide to surf, so here I am in my glory! I spend way too much time on sites that interest me. I am excited about the Entrecard experience.
